TRIP OVERVIEW

Raft the entire South Fork American River in one day! Join us for a full day, or 21 miles, of Class 2-3+ American River whitewater adventure including the upper Chili Bar run and lower Gorge run down to Folsom Lake. If you are looking for a trip that is great for first-time rafters, quick paced and with non-stop action this is the river rafting trip for you!

There are many Class 3 rapids to encounter first thing in the morning. The action continues for the first 7 miles ending with the iconic Troublemaker Rapid (Class 3+). We float past the Marshall Gold Discovery Park and continue with a mellow afternoon float back to camp for lunch. The afternoon we tackle the Gorge section of the South Fork American River known for the big Class 3+ rapids Satan’s Cesspool & Hospital Bar, along with many other Class 2-3 action along the way.

The South Fork of the American River has become a “must do” for rafters of all abilities. This section of river is what you think of when you think of white water rafting. This classic trip has introduced many to the river and is the trip that brings them back to year over year.

Water flows in the South Fork American River result from releases from hydroelectric facilities located upstream. Such water releases are not subject to the control of El Dorado County or rafting companies operating under Permits from the County of El Dorado.
