Put on in partnership with Flying Fish Company out of Portland Oregon this unique 4 day, 3 night river rafting experience on the Snake River is one you don’t want to miss.

Each evening meal features a course prepared and curated by Flying Fish Company who features sustainable seafood from the Pacific Northwest. In addition, the final dinner of the trip will be a full Flying Fish takeover with the entire meal created and executed by their chefs. The owner Lyf Gildersleeve will host the entire experience as chef, fishing guide and yoga teacher. In addition Flying Fish’s Executive Chef Erik Englund will be on board curating the culinary experience.

Wake up to daily meditation and yoga at sunrise with live music in the mornings and evenings. Local Portland musician Mark Granger (@markgrangermusic), known for flute and guitar, will perform throughout the trip. During the day on the river there are options to try standup inflatable kayaks, paddleboards and river boards.

About Flying Fish Company

At the Flying Fish Company Restaurant and Market (@flyingfishpdx), Owner and Chef Lyf Gildersleeve leads with a commitment to sustainability and a deep respect for the ocean’s bounty. This is reflected in everything from the use of non-GMO, high-temperature tolerant rice bran oil for their famed fish and chips, to the hive of honey bees Lyf keeps for pollinating local gardens and supporting a vibrant crop of vegetables used in the restaurant’s seasonal dishes. The restaurant’s dedication to minimizing its carbon footprint is evident in its participation in the Pacific Power Blue Sky Program, sourcing products locally, and purchasing carbon offset credits.

Lyf’s passion doesn’t stop at the kitchen door; it extends into his advocacy for marine conservation, co-founding Shuck Portland for oyster restoration projects, and ensuring that Flying Fish Co. aligns with the most sustainable fishermen and organizations like Monterey Bay Seafood Watch and Marine Stewardship Council. With a family legacy of smoking and preserving seafood, Lyf continues to offer a unique flavor to their offerings, making the Gildersleeve family not just seafood sellers but stewards of a tradition that honors the environment and community.

About White Water Rafting on the Snake River

Rafting the Snake River is a well known bucket list item for any outdoor enthusiast. As the deepest river canyon in North America (yes, even deeper then the Grand Canyon!) and bordering the states of Idaho and Oregon the whitewater experience is truly unmatched. With mountain tops towering nearly 8,000ft over the river our 4 day wilderness camp and raft trip is a incredible, unique and off-the-grid getaway for groups, families and friends.

In addition to it being a fishing hot spot for bass, trout, sturgeon, and steelhead the area offers  diverse wildlife, including bighorn sheep, bald eagles, whooping cranes, and even the occasional grizzly bear. (We see bighorn sheep on nearly every trip!) The landscape features desert like red rocks that tower above you as you float on the clear blue waters. Throughout the rafting trip we stop at old sheep herd ranches and step into their green oasis, who’s pastures were created by the water run off of the mountains above. A wildly beautiful juxtaposition of the landscape around.
