North Fork American River Trips usually start in April and run into May, or late June in a high snowpack year! 2023 we anticipate to start in April and raft on this emerald gem until the end of June.
The East Carson River drainage is a direct high alpine environment with trip usually running from April into June, early July trips are sometimes available when snowpack levels are high! For 2023 we anticipate a long season starting mid-April and running into July.
The Owyhee River will have great flows this Spring, they may end up being higher/faster than the past couple of years. We currently have 2 launch dates on the calendar for 2023 and see no issues in running these trips.

- Sunday April 30
A short season free flowing river – Runs in May & June. Come view Mt Shasta from the river!
Dam Controlled River Flow Predictions
Rogue River rafting will be seeing some higher/faster flows in the spring of 2023, but this is a forgiving river and still safe for kids and non-swimmers at those flows. We will be running trips early spring into mid-June, and late August into October for our 2023 season.
2023 Snake River Rafting will begin May 1 and run until mid-September. Flows in the spring will be a bit higher/swifter/colder than past years, but the nature of this river is forgiving.
The Deschutes River trips for 2023 will see some higher/faster flows in the spring, these are still suitable for younger kids and non-swimmers, but for timid rafters we suggest aiming for mid-June through September for rafting. Trips will running everyday from Memorial Day until Labor Day, and available April until November in 2023.
Water flows on the South Fork American River come from a series of dams which are controlled by various agencies and typically very regulated. For 2023 we anticipate higher than normal flows in the Spring until Memorial Day weekend. We will have final confirmation in beginning of April, but we anticipate the following schedule for 2023:
- Before Memorial Day – Trips everyday / Possibly higher water, kids under 10 and non-swimmers suggested later in the season
- Memorial Day – Labor Day – Trips everyday
- After Labor Day – Trips available Thursday thru Sunday
Flows on the Middle Fork American River are typically guaranteed Mid-May thru end of September.
For 2023 – Accessibility to the river is currently TBD after road damage from the Mosquito Fire and winter storms have caused wash outs. If this is resolved, we anticipate high water Spring seasons pushing the start of the Middle Fork trips into June or Early July if flows are still too high. The good news is, the free flowing Class IV trips on the North Fork American and North Yuba will be running April into June!
The Lower Middle Fork American River trips typically start in Mid-May and are guaranteed until Labor Day/end of September. In 2023 we anticipate water flows to be higher than normal until mid-June, which may raise the min. age. We suggest planning trips for younger kids in July-August for the 2023 season to stay safe and avoid needing to reschedule if flows are too high early in the season.
The Truckee River Rafting season usually starts mid-May, but also depends on Tahoe snowpack and if there is still runoff. We usually operate on the Boca Run, but in times of high flows on that run we defer to the Verdi section of the river. The Boca Run is suitable for most participants, though its gets a bit more challenging at the end at lower flows.
This is not the same float out of Tahoe City. So if someone tells you there is “no” water or “too much” water in the Truckee make sure to call and check with us!!
Lower Klamath River trips will begin mid-May 2023 and run through the end of June. Flows drop and Karuk Native American Indian ceremonies start the beginning of August, but our 3 day Deschutes River trip is a great alternative multi-day rafting/camping trips for families in August-October!
2023 is slotted to be the LAST YEAR OF DAM CONTROLLED FLOWS on the Upper Klamath River! Dam removal is scheduled for late 2023, contact us for trip dates this season.
For 2023 Cal Salmon River trips, please contact us. This is NOT a beginner trip, so get your group ready for this classic Class 4/5 river.
to be put on the waiting list. Though its dam controlled, the Bureau of Reclamation schedule releases due to a “water year type”. We typically know mid-April what the flow schedule and dates will be. This trip definitely requires previous Class IV experience and a Class V swim test will be given.
Trips on the Class III Trinity River will most likely be running in June & July for 2023.
